We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Bankruptcy Lawyer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing full legal support for corporate bankruptcy procedures in accordance with Ukrainian legislation
- Representing clients (debtors, creditors, insolvency practitioners) in bankruptcy, rehabilitation, and liquidation proceedings
- Drafting and reviewing procedural documents: petitions for initiation of bankruptcy proceedings, motions, complaints, appeals, cassations, rehabilitation and liquidation plans
- Conducting legal analysis of a company’s financial and business documentation, developing strategies for bankruptcy procedures
- Participating in creditors’ meetings and committees, coordinating the terms of rehabilitation/liquidation plans, and supporting debt restructuring processes
- Liaising with insolvency practitioners, auditors, financial advisors, and state authorities involved in bankruptcy procedures
- Challenging unlawful actions or decisions within bankruptcy cases, and protecting clients’ rights during insolvency proceedings
- Advising clients on bankruptcy risks, strategies, and potential implications
- Monitoring legislative developments in bankruptcy law and providing legal recommendations
- Preparing analytical materials and legal opinions for businesses, as well as participating in thematic professional events
Requirements:
- Higher legal education
- Valid attorney’s licence (certificate to practise law in Ukraine)
- Proven experience in handling corporate bankruptcy procedures and strong knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. the Code of Ukraine on Bankruptcy Procedures)
- Experience representing large and medium-sized enterprises in bankruptcy litigation and in negotiations between creditors and debtors
- Experience in managing multi-level restructuring processes and corporate conflicts
- Ability to work with financial documentation and to analyse and structure commercial cases
- Excellent analytical and drafting skills, especially in preparing complex procedural documents
- Experience in communication with government authorities, insolvency practitioners, and auditors
- Excellent command of written and spoken Ukrainian; English proficiency would be an advantage
- Responsibility, resilience, strong negotiation skills, and ability to effectively defend clients’ interests
- Membership in professional legal associations is desirable
