ADER HABER launches International Desk to work with international projects and institutions

02 December 2025

ADER HABER Law Firm announces the launch of the International Desk — a dedicated strategic direction focused on cross-border projects, international disputes, cooperation with international financial institutions and investors, as well as legal support for Ukraine’s reconstruction.

Iaroslav GREGIRCHAK, FCIArb — a lawyer and consultant with more than 20 years of experience in governance, public policy, commercial law, dispute resolution, and anti-corruption reforms — has become a strategic advisor in this new direction, taking the role of Strategic Advisor, International Desk (Of Counsel).

In 2015–2022, Yaroslav Grehirchak served as the Deputy Business Ombudsman of Ukraine, where he was responsible for handling complex disputes between business and the state, maintaining systemic dialogue with authorities, and developing recommendations for reforming the regulatory and law-enforcement environment, anti-corruption policy, and tax and customs administration.

For 7.5 years, he combined unique experience in political work, business advocacy, and practical lobbying within transparent institutional mechanisms — experience that has virtually no analogue among Ukrainian lawyers in the private sector.

Iaroslav GREGIRCHAK, FCIArb: For me, cooperation with ADER HABER is not just a new title, but a return to the professional environment that has shaped me, now enriched with many years of experience in public administration and independent international consulting. I am returning to legal practice not as an observer, but as a practitioner who understands how governments, international financial institutions, and investors think — and how to translate this logic into workable solutions for business.

In Ukraine, the culture of transparent lobbying and business advocacy is still at an early, almost infant stage. I was fortunate to spend 7.5 years serving as Deputy Business Ombudsman, where my work focused specifically on policy development, institutional advocacy, and establishing the rules of engagement between business and the state. The combination of this experience with private-sector consulting is rather unique for the Ukrainian market, and I do not see many lawyers today who can reproduce it symmetrically.

The International Desk is designed to become a bridge for clients between the Ukrainian legal landscape and the requirements of global markets — from infrastructure, energy, and logistics reconstruction projects to complex tax structures, project finance, real estate transactions, M&A, and the resolution of commercial and investment disputes. Combined with ADER HABER’s strong position on the Ukrainian market and my recognition among international financial institutions, governments, and the private sector, we aim to significantly reinforce the firm’s international dimension.

Our objective is simple yet ambitious: in everything related to international transactions, reconstruction, and disputes, for ADER HABER to be associated not only with high-quality legal expertise, but also with a deep understanding of the political economy of decision-making and the ability to play a long game — despite any market scepticism.”

The International Desk is created as an integrated center of the firm’s international expertise. Its task is to combine deep Ukrainian practice with the requirements of global markets, donors, and institutions.

The direction will focus, in particular, on:

  • interaction with international financial institutions, donors, funds, and technical assistance programs in structuring and implementing complex projects;

  • legal support for Ukraine’s reconstruction and modernization projects (infrastructure, energy, logistics, municipal and public-private projects);

  • cross-border investments and financing, including project and structured finance;

  • M&A, real estate transactions, and corporate structuring with an international component;

  • international and investment disputes, arbitration, mediation, and other ADR mechanisms;

  • sanctions, compliance, tax risks, and regulatory requirements for businesses operating in Ukraine and abroad.

” We are launching the International Desk as a living platform, not just a ‘plaque’ on the website. Our clients need a guide to the world of international institutions, donors, arbitrations, and complex cross-border transactions. For this purpose, we are involving Yaroslav Gregirchak — a lawyer who understands equally well the logic of the state, business, and international partners.

His experience as Deputy Business Ombudsman, his participation in systemic reforms, and his recognition among international financial institutions give us a unique opportunity to strengthen ADER HABER’s international dimension precisely now, when the need for reconstruction and structured solutions for business is critical, “ — said Yuriy Petrenko, Managing Partner of ADER HABER Law Firm.
